Activity Update for Feb 20 (Weather Alert)

So here is the update for our meeting tomorrow. If school is canceled the meeting will be canceled. Bowling starts at 5pm at South Lanes. All Scouts can participate in the bowling. Pizza will be served at 6pm at the bowling alley. The skating meritbadge will start at 6:30 over at Highrollers. We have a nice number of Scouts that will be participating in this meritbadge.

I will not be there tomorrow because of a schedule change at work. I hope you all have a blast.

Thanks
Jerry

Contacts and Calendar Updated

The current contact information for troop leaders has been updated on the contacts Tab.  Please check it over for errors that might have come from transcription of the hand written version.  Thanks!

I’ve figured out how to embed the calendar, so you can see the troop calendar on the webpage directly.  I left the link to open it in its own tab if you prefer full size.  Additionally, I embedded the Council Calendar directly below ours to make it conveniently accessible.

Merit Badge Day

This is a reminder for scouts that this Saturday is merit badge day, everyone who showed interest should be signed up and they would have learned what merit badges they were going to and where the merit badge is located tonight. Also reminder that OA members that chose to participate in wingding that you will meet at Camp Decorah at 6:00pm.–(Keith K from FB group)

Pancake Supper

On February 13th we will be running the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper here at Good Shepherd. There are three different sections you can sign up for. Setup from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Supper from 5:00-7:00 pm, and Cleanup from 7:00-8:30pm. this is a fundraiser for the scout so we need people to sign up. We will have the sheets out at the next meeting so please know what you are willing to do and signup. Our next meeting will be the last one to signup before the Pancake Supper. If you have any questions please comment and let me know.–(Keith K from FB group)

Scout Sunday

On February 4th we are doing Scout Sunday here at Good Shepherd. For this we need people to sign up, 8:30 Service we are in need of one to two people to run a name tag table, we need 1-2 people handing out cookies, two more ushers, and two people to let members out of pews during communion. For our 10:30 service we need 1-2 people for our name tag table, 3 more ushers, and we need five people for communion. You must be a member of the church to do communion unless you are just the two letting people out of pews. Please respond if you have any questions or what you would like to do. We need to fill all open spots if possible because we want to look good towards the church since they do a lot for us.–(Keith K from FB group)

Participating in Hotline

The Hotline is meant to be an interactive communication tool, like the Facebook group we are moving away from.  To make this work, we need to have registered users.  There is a link down at the bottom left of these pages labeled “WordPress Admin“.  There, you can log in, or register if you are new to the system.  You have to create a username and supply an e-mail address.  Then, a link will be sent to the e-mail for you to complete the registration process.  Once registered, you have the ability to comment or reply to existing posts.  If there is need for any users to have elevated privileges to create primary content, the administrator will grant those privileges.

meeting update

Bring your scissors!✂️
Tuesday night is discount card assembly night. Many hands make light work. Please come and help if you are able.

Calendar functionality

The new troop calendar is a “public” Google calendar.  A great advantage is the ability to add the events from this calendar to an existing personal Google calendar that you may be using.  You can add calendars from friends, groups, businesses, etc if you have a proper link to the desired calendar.  The link to the Troop 22 Calendar is:

https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/troop22web%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics

To add this troop calendar to your personal Google Calendar, you need to log in to your own Google calendar on a computer (not mobile device).  Simply click on the link shown below:

When you click on the “+” next to “Add a friend’s calendar”, you should select the “From URL” option, and then you can point to another calendar by using a URL like that shown above.  The URL needs to be for a calendar in iCal format ( *.ics) like that shown above.

Simply copy and paste the URL into the box shown:

Then Click the “ADD CALENDAR”.

It’s that easy!

Welcome!
